The emotion wheel

American psychologist Dr Robert Pultchik designed ‘The Emotion Wheel’ and suggested that there are eight primary emotions that act as the foundation for all others: joy, sadness, acceptance, disgust, fear, anger, surprise and anticipation. There are 34,000 distinct emotions, however if we can learn how to identify the primary emotions, we can then integrate them into our daily lives.

At Core Sentience, we support you to reconnect to the rich information that emotions hold. Not simply by studying them intellectually, historically, or psychologically but from a full bodied approach incorporating the heart, mind, body and soul.
